OT: Depends. I think that someone who considers the evidence of extraterrestrial life and says that based on that evidence he has no reason to believe it exists, is perfectly rational. He might say that, mathematically speaking, there is a chance of it existing, but that he will not make the assumption of existence based on a mathematical chance. However, if someone dismisses the possibility entirely, then yes, I would consider them close minded.
