Illogical assumptions on your part. Face it, sony added much more and updated the ps4 dual shock then ms did. The new features such as speakers and touchpad could be what people voted for. On top of that the xbox controller is the worst one ive ever held and the 360 is much better... my thumbs are in the same place on each hand... it also still requires batteries

nothing illogical about it.  who are these people running around say oh yeah boyee i got a speaker.  the touchpad pad sure.  xbox style curvatures and concave sticks, better triggers.  360 is and always has been the best controller except to those sony fans that just hate everything xbox.  theres a reason they approach bungie for help.  as for those sticks ive always hate them like that.  the 360 controller left stick is more natural period.  when you grab the controller your thumb its already on the stick and not forced

Using that logic, your right thumb must ache after having to stretch it ALL THE WAY to the right analog stick on the 360 controller. 

The truth is, neither one is bad on thumb placement, it's just all down to preference.  I, like many PS owners, prefer the analog sticks to be symmetrical.  It just feels more natural to me.  However, I have no problems playing with a 360 controller, nor does the new thumb placement hurt my thumbs.  In truth, it's all just blown out of proportion for the "console warz."  The only things I don't like about the 360 controller is the D-Pad and the ridge on the back where your index finger sits (this starts to hurt my index finger after a few hours of playing.)
