Oh and who are you? The official english dictionary?

I saw your post and this is your opinion/definition of hardcore gamer... Not mine... And like my definition; yours is very subjective.

If you look at the definition of hard-core in the dictionary, it basically says that it is someone very loyal to something and these kids are pretty loyal to the Call of Duty brand if you ask me. They are playing more than the average "adult/nostalgic/elitist" out there who believe "he" or "she" is the perfect hardcore gamer model.

First of all, I may not be the english dictionary but I can read: we were discussing the term "hardcore gamer" and not "hard - core" in general. Savvy ?

Second of all, the hole in the OP's theory is not subjective at all: he deliberately tries to sway the issue into a case of good customer vs bad customer but buying many titles does not account for a variety of games. Savvy ?

If you want to discuss the issue on the basis that a hardcore gamer is a competitive gamer in a specific game or genre that is another thing. Savvy ?

Savvy? Just sit down and take long breath :)
And if you post that kind of picture with the 2 kids with a single "are we done" and close the door to any debate, don't expect gentle replies!

Now again, definition of hardcore gamers are so subjective. And even if we go by one of your definition (quoting you here) : "hardcore gamer is a competitive gamer in a specific game or genre". These kids are exactly THAT... Like it or not.
