Retro studios essentially had to fill in for Rare, which was always going to be tough on them. They're not the most prolific bunch, but they pulled off Metroid Prime nicely.
Prime 3 was a bit of a step down though for me, it just seemed to be going through the motions. Still looking forward to seeing what they've been working on! Hopefully Nintendo lets them do something ambitious.
