6th gen- I started off with Gamecube in 2003, still my favorite console. After playing all the best games I got a PS2 in 2006, mainly because I liked Twin Snakes so much and wanted to play the other games in the series, there ended up being a ton of other great games too. I got an Xbox a few years later at a garage sale and played Halo and a few other games but sold it soon after to help pay for a Wii.
7th gen- I bought a Wii in 2009, was a great system but I didnt enjoy it nearly as much as GC, Smash/Galaxy/Zelda/Prime Trilogy/Monster Hunter made it worth the $200 tho. Last year I bought a PS3 on black friday, been having a lot of fun with it and PS+ is giving me a big backlog for cheap. If the $99 360 rumor comes true I may get one soon just to play Halo and Gears.
8th gen- This gen will probably be the same, Wii U this year or next, PS4 a few years later and possibly X1 when the gen is over.
