For most people Xbox One or PS4 are their only options. These consoles provide the type of games they want. A Wii U isn't an option and going PC-only isn't either.

Most people will get a PS4/One regardless.of any DRM. They'll learn to deal with it by buying less games and being more picky and "safe" with their purchases.
