Dont make stuff up... I may have said they will do the same but I wouldnt "berate" them for it. I actually want them to introduce installs and online registration of games. It will at least show they get the 21st century digital consumption model and are striving to create a viable ecosystem

as JerCotter7 already pointed out there is a possibility to have just that on PS4 (and PS3, PSV, PSP,..)

simply buying the digital versions

And X360 while youre listing consoles...

That is fine and a viable option. I do have 2 slight issues with it:

1. Retail disk sales may be cheaper drom time to time, especially with older games. Buying only digital has me stuck to PSN pricing...

2. This creates a fragmented ecosystem in terms of game ownership, no different than current gen. Not sure how that would work actually... Games I bought digitally would be tied to my gamer ID, but the ones I buy at retail wouldn't? When it comes to those extra next gen features like game streaming on to PS Vita, do I have to keep the disc in and my PS4 on at all times if I bought a retail game? How otherwise will PSN know I own this game and am allowed to stream it to my Vita using Gaikai?
