Because it was lying there on her desk. I had to handle the life-savers because she just left them in a random mess, and the bag of animal crackers was just open and sitting there. That and i already had a low opinion of her at that point. The point where i lose some of the moral high ground, definitely, but there was no way she noticed them actually missing. More likely she noticed them moved (and was mad about her precious CD player being unplugged) and put two and two together.
