Just when I started warming up to The Last of Us, this demo comes out and disappoints me. Sorry to be negative but it's just incredibly boring, the graphics are obviously good but definitely not as good as Uncharted 3 in this short demo and it didn't even say 'Work in progress' or 'Not final' so I doubt it'll look any better by release. I didn't like the gameplay, It just felt sluggish and fiddly. The sound was unremarkable and didn't help convey the atmosphere, I didn't feel any tension, fear or excitement. I have personally been left overall unimpressed, that's not to say others won't enjoy it. I recommend trying the demo if you have GoW:A before deciding if you're going to buy the game at full price, it won't spoil the story at all and you just might not like it much.
It could be that this just wasn't a good demo and the full game could still be good but personally, I've never played a demo that I disliked and still enjoyed the full game (yes, I still give some games a chance when they're dirt cheap even after an unimpressive demo).
At the moment I'm not buying this game regardless of how positive the reviews may be. I will probably rent/borrow the game to see if I like it enough to justify paying near full price or just wait for a bargain bin price. I really want to like/love this game, hope I enjoy the full game more!
