These middleware engines are the wave of the future and the only way the gaming industry will surivive at it's current rate of 5 year life cycles and game budgets that seem to double every generation. I hope developers use this engine, but I feel it would have been a bigger hit if Sony showed off a game they were creating themselves for it that isn't a PSN title. I feel a lot of people really saw the potential of Unreal Engine 3 after they saw what Gears of War was becomming from previews and wanted in.
