Persona 4 Golden is a must, best game out for the Vita hands down and you can buy Persona 3 Portable after i you like it. Others I would recommend are

• Need for Speed
• Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed
• Unit 13
• Sound Shapes
• Super Stardust Delta
• Guacamelee
• Mutant Blobs Attack

 

Can't go wrong with anything on that list!

I hadn't tried a Persona game before either, to be honest, barring seeing the PSP titles on PSN I hadn't even heard of the series before everyone started raving about it on here. It's worth buying a Vita for alone!
