I've owned both xbox consoles and love my 360 but I would have to agree with VGKing.

Stripping functionality and rights are anti-consumer practices. It's pretty black and white if you ask me.

Well, lets not call the pot a kettle.
Sony stripped away functionality with the PS3, removing Linux and removing hardware-based backwards compatability.
The only difference here is that, Microsoft is letting everyone know what they're getting into before buying into the platform.

It's still a crappy thing both companys are doing/have done and it doesn't have consumers in it's best interests either.

I'm actually hoping Micrososft has slow sales with the Xbox One with the core demographic, it might make them sit-up and listen and remove some of the restrictions, they are goverened by financial incentives after all, like all for-profit companies.

Linux support was a niche feature that almost no one used. Comparing that to used games limitations is like night and day. You do have a point though, both are anti-consumer. Removing b/c from the Slim models isn't anti-consumer though. If it is then I guess Nintendo is also screwing over consumers by removing Gamecube support from the Wii mini?

Actualy they're not. They keep saying something then going back saying something else in a different interview.
