While it's true there was endless crap on Wii, there's far more crap on Apple/Android. But they have prominent user ratings and rank according to popularity (and search match) so it's easy for casuals to find the gems out of the sea of trash.

Nintendo could and and absolutely should have done a similar thing. They sort-of introduced that concept buried in the Nintendo Channel but few casuals would look there. So I blame Nintendo for mishandling that.

Mobile devices are the casual gaming systems of choice but I expect MS to target that market with Xbox One/Kinect.

Re: Price - Casuals shelled out $200 for Rock Band and $400 for Xbox/Kinect. There are not cheap, if there's a compelling offer. I also expect Xbox One to be subsidized with payment plans ($199 with 2 year XBL subscription)
