Sony maintains good relation with third parties yet they wouldn't kiss ass.

Microsoft maintains good relation with third parties and they do kiss ass.

Nintendo doesn't have good relations with third parties but its not just because they're ballsy. Nintendo are aware that what brings them success isn't outsiders' but their own products. They can compete with Sony and Microsoft simply by making Pokemon and Mario games. A slight Third Party support should be enough to push their hardware.

Nintendo doesn't look for Third Parties, it's Third Parties who look for Nintendo.

Gamecube and N64 beg to differ. Wii U is in for a very rough ride if it tries to rely on Mario and Pokemon spin off games.

I was considering WiiU if Sony shat on us with DRM, but I've had a rethink and I'll go full rebel and get Ouya. I'm not into Bayonetta, I actively dislike Mario, and Zelda doesn't float my boat, so there's not much reason for me to go for Nintendo as a protest vote, so I might as well use my protest vote to reject the console triumverate in its entirety.

I just hope PS4 is too expensive for my sons to buy with their own savings. They've said they want PS4 no matter what, and if they don't need to rely on a cash injection from me I won't be able to keep PS4 out of the house.
