As long as I can still dream that PS4 will dominate like the PS1 and PS2, I will continue to be exited about the next generation.

On the subjects in the OP. Price wise I don't see any issue with next gen or the Vita. With the Vita, it is a cell phone without cellular support. That is its biggest draw back, and will keep it down until they address the issue. As for PS4 and XBO, they should both come in at $400 -500 which is perfectly fine for a system in 2013.

We will never return to the days of $300 dollar launch consoles because there is to much required to make a console now. As much as hardcore gamers hate it Motion controls are a must in any system going forward. HDD's and SDD's are a must for getting content to the system fast enough to render the beautiful graphics we expect. Most important the cost of material, and labor are more expensive.

Moving to content delivery. Like I said above, games being on the HDD is a must for the level of graphics on next gen systems. The nice part this time is they have secondary chips so it is done in the background, and never interferes with your experience. In fact it makes your experience better by lowering load times, and keeping you in the game.

DRM, I hate it as much as the next person, but I also love video games. As far as single play goes, I think that should be trad-able among friends, but online is a service, and should be payed for. Now the only thing left is to decide is whether you pay one fee to use the overall service or on a per game bases. This paying for Live plus online passes is a load of. I would prefer every game to charge you for single player, and then if you have an internet connection, and want to play online, you can pay for that once in the game menu.

Sly Cooper is not going anywhere. Sorry

I do no think anyone or anything can restrain you from dreaming :) You'll be okay I think!
