The way I see it:

If you have no high speed internet, and no way of getting internet you are not in a market for a next gen console for different reasons

If you have high speed internet available, but can't afford it, again you are not in the market for the next gen consoles

if you have high speed internet but its "spotty" and disconnects often, you should be able to enjoy the console as you would any other console (single player mostly, multiplayer when internet is available)

Sorry but this is one of the most moronic things I have read on the internet.

Last I heard 31 million xbox360's were not hooked up to the internet.

If Microsoft want to ignore these consumers, they can at their peril.

31 million without internet eh? A console that sold 75 million in sales and 40+ million "paying" xbox live gold members an god knows how many silver ones that microsoft doesnt include in their numbers has 31 million users without internet? And this is after the infamous RROD which pretty much decimated all first and second gen xboxes and a slim redesign which made many people rebuy the console?

I wouldnt throw out the word moronic lightely but...

If I was microsoft i wouldnt lose too much sleep over lost business due to internet not being available. We are in year 2013 where smartphone sales are over 200 million every year based on the the premise of being "always on" and having available 3g/4g internet everywhere you go. Without internet they are useless devices, as are tablets, laptops...Google has an entire operating system called Chrome which doesnt work unless you have internet. And all those products are growing rapidly... Next to go internet only will be Television when IPTV becomes the norm in the next few years.
