How do you figure that? Do you realize that MS is one of the biggest software houses in the world?

So tell me: Who or what changed the tv channel when the guy yelled "ESPN" into the micro?

The xbox, but I'm honestly not sure if or how the xbox is able to communicate backwards through the hdmi out port.

Oh, there is already a standard that enables communication across devices with hdmi: hdmi-cec. That is why you can control your dvd-player or bluray-player with your tv-remote. MS just needs a wrapper from voice to cec-commands.

Dude, your tc remote is an infrared emitter.....and as I write above, chances are pretty slim that your average $20 settop box has a bidirectional HDMi 1.4a connector that just happens to say "HDMI out" instead of the right description.
