Well, they were never announced as exclusives for the PS3.

Devil May Cry 4:

"Sony's list of PS3-exclusive third party games continues to diminish. Capcom has just announced their plans to make Devil May Cry 4 a multi-platform game. The game is now in development for the Xbox 360 and the PC, with the 360 version launching simultaneously as the PS3 version.

"Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible, and has been building its technology base to meet that goal," said Mark Beaumont , executive vice president, officer and head of Capcom consumer software publishing in the Americas and Europe said in the latest press release.

While making the game accessible to the largest audience possible is admirable, Sony must now ensure that they do not lose further exclusives. Currently, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII are still slated for PS3-exclusive release, but Sony must make every effort that Konami and Square Enix don't follow suit."

And don't tell me you forgot this.

Did Sony announce those games as exclusives to PS3?

I tried checking sources, but I can't say. I don't see any oficial statement anywhere; however, the Lead Producer stated so in a special famitsu magazine.

Usually Sony doesn't announce games and even DLCs as exclusives if they aren't. There are some exceptions here and there.

Also the lead producer belongs to capcom, and they probably had that vision for the game in the beginning. That has happened many times, I think Metro Last Light was also supposed to be PC/360 only but now it is on PS3 as well. That's not really the same as a company announcing something as exclusive and then it turning out to be a multiplat.
