The hell is tumblr? What's with new social network sites coming out each month.

It's a blog site that focus around "reblogging" other people's blog posts much like how "retweeting" works. But the content is mostly anime and fandom gifs/the picture equivalent of one line social justice tweets.

The social media cycle:

Nerds -> Coolkids -> Marketers -> Adults -> Dead

Tumblr's currently at Coolkids. Twitter at Marketers. Facebook at Adults.

Oh also Yahoo just bought it so if it wasn't sinking already it will now.

If adult content can circulate uncensored, then I could see the appeal.
