You don't appreciate the small details >_> Anyway, things get interesting after the case at the third day. There are strong references during the cases at day two. The first day serves to light up the mood, point to the villain and explain the Zombrex thing (Which wasn't during the first Dead Rising), alongside with references to Frank West and Isabella Keys (The main characters from the first game).
