Sony has been supporting the PS2 for almost 7 years so what's wrong if MS supports this for another 5 years? 

Sony haven't made games for it since about 2008 and virtually all 3rd party support dried up by 2010 and because of how they cost to make, i'm not sure how much support you would say that is. Very profitable though
