Besides, what does that mean, exactly? Should every game be a huge success? Are you saying the numbers were bad on Vita and good elsewhere?
Even if that's true for some games, it's certainly not true of all games. As the developer of Retro City Rampage said, "Indies should definitely jump onto the PS Vita. RCR's sold much more on PSN than XBLA and more on PS Vita than even PS3."
Even beyond that, many of these games are releasing elsewhere as well, and a Vita version is quick and easy to make.
