Non-gamers bought Xbox bundled with Kinect for $300 and less. Non-gamers bought Wii for $250 and less. Non-gamers didn't think they needed another Wii (U) for $300-$350. Will current Kinect players think they need another Kinect for more than $400? I would say: No.

OK, but those non-gamers bought the Wii and Kinect to play news types of games, thus becoming gamers in the process.  It may seem like semantics, but I am asking if anyone will really purchase the Xbox One solely on the media capabilities.

And I was clearly referring to the prices those people even start considering these consoles. At $400 Xbox One can be the best media hub in the universe and it's still too expensive for the "casual" audience. Now, many elitists will buy Xbox One, but that won't be enough sales to make it a successful product.
