I do hate microsoft. I liked Xbox 360.

I do not know where your love from them comes, but they have proven trough history that whenever they try to do anything else than software, they fall hard.

You cannot take a point on the timeline and base all your estimation on it.

And yeah. Nt capabilities are based on Unix. That's exactly my point.

They never innovate. Somebody else innovate, they make it theirs, and then, sometimes, they make it better. Sometimes.

Let's look at PS4 now. It's been proven more powerfull. Everything points out that multimedia capabilities of the XBone is software (3GB ram for the OS is even worst than windows, seriously).

If it's software, what proves sony cannot do the same ? Right now they have a console with 4GB of ram free. You really think they cannot use it to do the same, knowing they are based on the exact same architecture ?

I never said Sony cannot do the same :)

My point is just about this guy bashing Windows OS kernel without knowing what he is talking about.

It is easy to hate Microsoft's OS because of the UI or because when you install a lot of stuff/drivers it craches easily... Now trying to bash it at the kernel level just does not make sense anymore. This is all I'm saying.

As for my love (I'm okay with that) for them; it is for different reasons:

1) We are an indie studio and we are using Microsoft technologies. We are extremely happy with them and working with .NET / SQL Server is a charm.
2) Microsoft is helping by providing us ressources, servers (Azure), MSDN subscriptions and a lot of support.
3) I love Microsoft Windows as a end user operating system. (and I have a MacBook pro with Windows 8 on it instead of MacOS) :)
4) What they did with the Xbox and the console industry changed my mind on console (was a PC gamer only before).
5) And you do not agree with this one (but it is just your oppinion); I think Microsoft is actually innovating a lot and putting a lot of money in their R&D... Like any company (incuding Sony) they are obviously aquiring others for the tech but this is not different than any other company.

And many other reasons :)

I respect your position but nothing is wrong for having a different one than yours and my reasons are as valid as yours!
