As a current 3 system owner, I'm starting to think you're right. I really hope Sony resists the full on DRM bull crap.
And Nintendo competes with itself.
If you want your full COD, BF4, GTA experiences then you buy a Microsoft/Sony console. If you want your mario / zelda you buy a Nintendo console. There really isn't enough overlap anymore to consider them fierce competitors. At the end of the day, they are ALL competing for our wallets I get that. But in terms of the gaming experience they deliver, not so much.
Thats why I think if you want the best of gaming you gotta own at least 2, if not all 3. And yeah, your PC can come too.
