Sure, it could be good. Last year could have been good, too, but it wasn't.
It depends on your tastes. It will be good for some people, it will not be good for some people.
Take Nintendo. It sounds like if you like Mario and Pokémon, it will be good. If you only care about Metroid and gritty Zelda (ergo not Wind Waker or LTTP2), it might suck.
