Well, it's pretty much consoles trying to become more like PCs in a closed environment. The Xbox One is essentially a glorified HTPC with less functionality, and the PS4 is pretty much the same way. Nintendo is the only company that has not yet fallen for the PC Master Race yet while the other 2 are heading into that direction is all.
The next Xbox and Playstation are literally just dumbed down PCs at this point lol.
