I wish that were true. Some good games have failed to maintain compatibility with new devices and OS releases. Others have been yanked due to expired licenses.

It's hard to evaluate how good modern mobile platforms are at maintaining content when they've been around for less time than the current console gen.

You're damn right that, cumbersone though it may be, Nintendo has by far the best track record of backwards compatibility of any console manufacturer.
