I doubt people rent movies alone, they rent them with their friends etc. This patent could potentially be about multiplying the basic fee (in practice). That said, they haven't done anything yet so judgement shouldn't happen so quickly... But this is a horrible idea. Not only that, this isn't even an innovative idea. I don't understand why things like this can even get patented.

For a fan of a console being smacked upon for two days straight all bad news become biased. Not differnet from some of my reaction towards a certain big publisher refusing to develop for WiiU and somewhat refusing to develop for PC out there...
