Its was more open to devs, but MS closed themselves up and became more stringent on devs and started making devs pay them to put games on Xbox Live and now its even worse, they cant even go on without a publisher now. MS keeps making their lives harder and harder. They dont understand nor care for the trials of developers without publishers.

How was it "more open" when this is the exact same policy they already had in place? You cannot self-publish on 360, you cannot self-publish on Xbone. The way you say "they can't even go on without a publisher now" makes it pretty apparent you are not even aware that this has always been the case.

Also, before you go spouting off more nonsense, why don't we wait and see what they are doing with indies before writing it off? They have already said there are no more divisional game markets, indie and arcade games go right next to "AAA" downloadable retail games now. This is something you saw indies bitch about wanting constantly this gen, that unless your game was a huge seller, MS would not market it with ads and such and it would be buried in the XBLA market and be very hard to find. Now that problem is gone.

Is it a less indie friendly policy than Nintendo or Sony are going with next gen? No. Is it a deal breaker? Clearly not. If you owned a 360, I'd ask you to boot it up and take a gander at all the incredible XBLA games.
