Guess where they're going with their games next? Multi-plat. Nice way to say Xbox Live for them.

They didn't get much profit to invest in another Journey. They recouped the money invested in Journey but not enough to risk another round.

While Minecraft is selling on XBL more than most Sony and MS flagship titles but GT5.

Fixed.

I agree that indie games do seem to sell better on Live, but that comparison is awful.

Retro City Rampage sold more on Vita than either Xbox or PS3. It also generated more revenue than the PC ver. Go figure. The trend is also that indie games are selling better on Vita than PS3 in general (note we only get comparisons for these systems for the most point) so I guess handhelds are where indies should be going? Yes, Vita had fewer game releases, but it also has a much much smaller userbase to offset that.

ThatGameCompany went multiplat because their exclusivity deal with Sony expired. It's only logical to put your games on as many systems as possible if MS or Sony aren't moneyhatting exclusivity.

Barring Mine Craft which is a phenomenon to itself, do indie releases sell better on XBLA? The sales for titles like Fez don't seem to be any higher than PSN exclusive indie games. I've not seen any stats so couldn't tell you. But surely it's just blatently obvious that you want the biggest audience possible for your game and hence multi platform where possible. So no, they didn't say we didn't sell enough on PSN so we're coming to XBLA where people will buy our games. They said they were going multi platform to maximise their audience, because they're no longer being subsidised to just make their games for a single system.
