If Sony implements something like that on the PS4 I'll buy a Wii U just out of spite (and for nintendo games). |
Well there must be alot of people taken Microsoft's so-called anti-consumer crap policies. Because over 78 Million people own an Xbox 360 with more to come
and oh yea this new console just anounced called the Xbox One that more millions are going to buy. I guess people are just sheep, Heh!

I'm obviously talking about the Xbox One and its anti consumer policies, the X360 is awesome.

No... You are just starting another pointless argument about Microsoft... It is like ignoring the fact that it will be the same on PS4 and this has nothing to do with Microsoft but it is a game industry trend in general (I guess you are in love with team on the other hand)... We already have Xbox Live for that kind of non-sense argumentation if you need to spend some time bashing Microsoft tonight :)
OP: I'm with you... OH YEAH. The console is awesome... What they showed us is the future; I'm really pumped about the E3. I also like the fact that you can install games on your HDD and start them without the CD. With 3 kids at home (2 being crazy...); I will not need to replace my games every 6 months :)

"It is like ignoring the fact that it will be the same on PS4"
What facts? Where is the proof Sony will do this bullshit too? They indeed COULD be planning to do this anti consumer restrictions but until E3 we don't know yet, MS on the other hand has confirmed several times they will do it, thats a fact look that word in the dictionary.
"industry trend in general"
Hell no! a little company called Nintendo is not doing this and Sony so far hasn't announced anything like this except that is up to developers as it was on PS3 where I only remember Capcom doing DRM crap with Final Fight. MS again has confirmed that ALL new games will have a MANDATORY install and registration in order to be played.
"I guess you are in love with team on the other hand"
If Sony do this I will bash them too and buy a Wii U out of spite (and for Nintendo games)
This is bad for all consumers if you let them get away with this they will push you even more.

I was talking about "Steam", mistyped it... Not sure how your understood that sentence :)
Also, no it is not a fact but Sony already said it was up to the publisher. Now if you really want to be play the blind guy and ignore that the 3 big publishers (EA, Activision and Ubi) will more than certainly use it, good for you :) Even Sony will use it (in my oppinion).
And please don't use the generic "it is bad for the consumer" sentence. Publishers and Dev. not winning enough money to innovate is as bad for consumers. I'm an indy dev working on an MMORPG and seeing people like you just throwing this empty argument in your replies like you do is killing me. With what Microsoft and Sony (or just keep ignoring it...) are putting in place, game devs/publishers will be able to get something for second hand sells, instead of having EB-Games and other store like that getting everything...

Steam is PC and PC has always had installs thats why the serial codes and DRM, people is already used to it. These are consoles and I should be able to play even if I don't have an internet connection and I should be able to lend and change my used games with my friends and family. But what do you care apparently you are a dev a this means more money to you and thats it (even though MMORPG are always online).
I'm not ignoring Sony doing this but until they announce something concrete like MS did where installations and registrations are MANDATORY then I can really bash them for it, EA, Ubisoft and Activision are also making games for the Wii U and that console has no used fees/always online bullshit, how do you explain that? Also did Sony ever charge for online play? Will they charge for it in the PS4? We don't know yet.
And BTW I sold all my games through eBay and buy more games with that money.
