I think it's going to start out as a luxury item, and be priced down. It actually has the same form factor as a new video-playback system (DVD -> Bluray -> One). It's shaped like a utility device, not like a gaming machine, which is the way to go.

I won't make predictions on its sales, but I think IF my prediction for the price is correct, they should drop it ASAP after the launch. If people really will see it as a utility device the price is not competitive. Not many people will pay 500$ for what they might percept as a BluRay player with a glorified TV overlay...
