While I agree with you regarding the Live TV service, I disagree with you regarding Kinect. I think Microsoft HAS to show off the technology and how much better it is than the original, because it is significantly better than the original.
That being said, I would have preferred to see the Architectual Panel as a part of the main presentation, where the press were able to directly pose questions to the panel. Getting various people asking various people within Microsoft questions about the console and having multiple answers come back didn't do anything positive for the launch.
