Its no different from nintendo introducing the Wii mote or gamepad with each system. The intention is that it will be used in games for greater input but of course thats ultimately up to developers.

I understand that, and if it happens to truly make a difference then good. But thus far I have seen little evidence to suggest it can be used for anything other than gimmicky minigames and the such like.

I think some fun, novel experiences can be created with really precise body detections, facial recognition and finger tracking (not sure if either camera do finger tracking). Voice controls could be the ultimate UI interface depending on how accurate it is and most importantly neither camera's detract from the form factor or function of the controller. But we'll have to see where they take it at e3.
