Expecting the industry to put its weight behind the Wii U because that's what you bought is wishful thinking at best.

People are often irrational though, particularly when it comes to consumer loyalty.

The reality is, 3rd party development for the Wii U will be taking a back seat to both the XB1 and the PS4, so now would be a good time to either convince yourself that Nintendo developed games are the only ones that really deserve your hard earned gaming dollars, or you can build yourself a decent game capable PC for more than either of those consoles and then you won't have to be bitter over the lack of support the Wii U is most likely to be seeing in the coming years.

Well.......that's certainly ONE way to look at it, yes?

Another would be, as I've said myself earlier in this thread, my gaming priorities this coming gen especially are going to be:

1. Major 1st party Nintendo releases, namely the new (hopefully epic and awesome) Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Pikmin etc., along with a genuine hope that they also give me the HD Wave Race, Star Fox, Chibi Robo, etc. games that I've been dreaming of.

2. Awesome indie games. After their GDC presentation, Nintendo said that within days they had over a hundred small indie developers contacting them about making games for eShop. Many of them are already in development and confirmed to be coming to eShop, and many of those, while they may also be coming to Steam in some cases or iOS or whatever, as far as the three HOME consoles goes, will only be coming to Wii U. Such titles as these that I'm personally very excited for, are Shovel Knight, Two Brothers, Another Castle, Super Ubie Land, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Dusty Raging Fist, Unepic, Armillo, Anima: Gate of Memories, Buddy & Me, Shadow of the Eternals, etc. And a lot of these indie games, are styled after 8bit and 16bit games, which is my cup of tea, because I prefer classic gaming. So I get the best of both worlds, with new HD Nintendo games, and a bunch of "old school" retro indie games.

3. The icing on top, being whatever good 3rd party games come out for Wii U that I actually want. As stated before, I personally am not big into GTA, or Assassin's Creed, or CoD, nor a lot of other similar modern style games. I've just never much gotten into them, they don't appeal to me. But something like Sonic: Lost World, IF it's good, might be really neat. I already own Tekken Tag 2, which is solid, and Lego City Undercover, which is rather excellent, the best Lego game I've ever played by any means. Others like The Wonderful 101, the new Pac-Man game, Shin Megami Tensai x Fire Emblem, etc., look neat, and certainly worth looking into. I think Wii U will get a lot better support than you assume, and even if it DOESN'T get every major multi-console release, to my personally, that's not much sweat off my brow, because I wouldn't be buying a lot of those games even if I was getting them on PS3/4/whatever.

Just food for thought.
