I think it's less to do with discovery (you can just search his gaf name on google no matter how he types..) and more to do with ensuring people don't recognize him by his speech pattern or any other identifiable quirks in his irl writing style. Also, media outlets will be less eager to report on someone who writes like he does, with a name like he has.
