If what you just wrote is the midset of "gamers", they are going to get a rude awakening for the second gen in row. They really aren't as important to consoles sales as they think they are. I mean Wii is universally disliked by the gaming community and yet it sold gangbusters on a very limited set of unique features. Core gaming can push console sales to 30, maybe 40 million these days when you consider that smartphones, tablets, PCs are all eating gaming console's lunch. If you want to sell 100 million+ you need to do a hell of a lot more things than just offer great core games and exclusives. The thing which people here don't seam to realize is that Xbox One will do gaming as good as PS4, they just decided to talk about other features and aspects today which they believe will drive sales more than showcasing a few game demos to kids who will buy their consoles anyways when the first Halo or Call of Duty game comes out. |
Just because MS is trying to appeal to a wider audience doesnt mean it will successfully do that.
People expect games consoles to wow and amaze with gaming features ie. Wii. Not with advanced TV integration.
