Well. 16Gb of the cheapest consumer grade DDR3 Ram retails for around $120 AUD. ($80 USD, give or take.)
Which to be honest, is bloody cheap compared to the $300 or so I spent on my System Ram.
However, that's DDR3, you can't exactly buy GDDR5 off the shelf and hence gauge prices, but even when said and done, AMD and nVidia have started to include 1-2Gb of GDDR 5 on some of the Lower end/Mid range cards now, so it can't be too cost prohibitive in the grand scheme of things.
