If you ever thought of a commercial or any advertisement for games, post them here. It could be an entire campaign, or just a teaser/montage for a next gen console.

The commercials ideas I have sound a lot more meh when I actually write them down, but whatever:

WiiU

“Remember?”

This idea needs to be really trimmed down, but hopefully I can get the basic essence across.

You have a Kevin Butler type spokesperson, only greasier looking. Each shot shows him in a flashback of 4 guys in the past in front of a TV console, and asks something along the lines of “remember the 90’s?” or “remember back then?”.

In a longer version he might first reference a few popular things in the era, to emphasize how greasy the guy is. Whether or not he does, he eventually gets to saying “Remember the PlayStation?”. Some of the kids look awkwardly and shrug, one timidly raises their hand. The salesman type keeps pushing the PlayStation listing out some games, and tries to collect away the N64 controllers from the kids.

Ideally, you would repeat this 2 more times with the GameCube and Wii, featuring games that are probably more mainstream and emphasize local multiplayer, like Smash Brother’s. With the Wii, they could do a joke when the salesman pushes Call of Duty 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

At the end, they show the 4 guys, now in their 20’s, somehow freeing themselves of the saleman, and playing local multiplayer just as they did during the N64 era.

WiiU

“The cave”

Have no idea if this has been done in some fashion or not. Basically retell Miyamoto’s story about the cave he explored as a kid, tie that into a new Zelda release, and show either Miyamoto himself, or hopefully some young family member playing Zelda and reliving the memory on the console.

Vita

“Bored”

I’ll get at the essence, since I don’t know how exactly it would play out. Basically you show a person or people in various situations of waiting, like an airport, where they’re spending over an hour on their smartphones.

One scenario I had was 2 guys sitting at an airport, with one looking really bored on a smartphone and talking with another guy, saying that he checked his e-mail 20 times, and listing out some really bad sounding free apps (I might even want to incorporate the guy getting a call from his boss or something, only for his smartphone to run out of battery).

Then, either the second guy or a third guy is revealed to be playing a Vita (the first guy could go “so, what are you doing?”) listing out both new Vita and old PS2 games. Maybe to get some nostalgia effect, reference some specific points about the game (“cleared the X level”). If the smartphone idea is incorporated, have the Vita guy get a call from the boss, angry that he couldn’t connect to the smartphone guy.

Better for killing longer periods of times/Smartphones can get boring fast

Better quality games: Can play "nextgen" quality, or catchup to games from the past.
