I am a core gamer and I like motion controls. I think the wii and kinect have made dance games a lot better although I did enjoy some old DDR. I love Wii Sports and probably play it more than any other Wii game currently. I also really liked sports champions, the wii mote for rails shooters and a few other examples.
I have also hated a lot more motion controls than I have liked, but yes the core can enjoy them if done well.
