It seems to me that scandals don't have the sticking power that they used to. Some guys lose their job, the one side gets to go "see how evil these guys are?" but in the end nothing substantive is impacted. Like when the Justice Department was caught firing attorneys for purely political reasons back in the Bush years.

I wonder if it's due to lowered standards

Lowered standards or just plan unbalanced standards.  I mean shit.  While the IRS and AP stories are a big deal... it's not like those are even the biggest scandals that happened under Obama.

The IRS and AP stories are big deals and suck, but really Obama seems to be more Warren Harding and less Richard Nixon in those cases.

Now you want to talk about scandals?  How about the dozens of children killed in drone strikes against terrorists... where the definiton of terroist = Arab dude who's 18 or older and standing in the "wrong" Neighberhood.

Racial Profiling with a Hellfire missle... might not be something to get the Republicans to march about... but still.

I mean hell, those people could just be relatives of the terrorists.  Or delivery men or pretty much anybody.

Nobody really seems to give a shit though.

Nevermind Libya, which was a clear violation of the War Powers act... which Candidate Obama pretty specifically laid out.  Just about everyone was silent on that one too... except for my former representative  Dennis Kucinich.  Damn I miss him.

If you were to swap Obama's D with an R.  I bet history would view what scandals he had and how bad they were quite a bit differently.
