It seems to me that scandals don't have the sticking power that they used to. Some guys lose their job, the one side gets to go "see how evil these guys are?" but in the end nothing substantive is impacted. Like when the Justice Department was caught firing attorneys for purely political reasons back in the Bush years.
I wonder if it's due to lowered standards
