Your NBA analogy is, per usual, pretty weak. Jordan could have won 20 titles and it wouldn't change the fact that he is 50 and would get destroyed by most NBA players today let alone LeBron James.
GT has a more successful history. Which it should, since it launched years earlier and had the benefit of massive PS/PS2 userbases. As it pertains to the industry today and going forward, it's Halo and not a contest.
