The cherry picking in this thread is very very strong. Lol! OT: I still don't understand how people using Halo is bigger this gen. because it sold a total of 40M+ card? Halo have 6 games compare to 3 that's not even a fair comparison. It isn't about total sales of the series but rather how single games sells. Those people who bought those 6 games are also the same people who bought the game. Those 40M totals sales are not even a unique person or 40M different person. It's like saying COD is the bigger compare to Mario because the totals sales of COD is bigger compare to Mario because COD has more games because of it's yearly releases or it's like saying Killzone is bigger than Halo because it has 5 games with 11M compare to 1 Halo game with 10M sales this gen. Yes that's how I see it when people are combining the total sales. This is also directed to the people who are using the the Total sales of GT franchise.
Halo is bigger "now" because GT 5 still hasn't outsold HALO 3. Last Gen it was GT but right now it's HALO. Halo is the bigger franshice now because this is the present and we can't use the numbers last gen because it was in the "Past". Anyway, The bottomline is both are big game in their own rights and nobody can argue with it.

Fair? Who said anything about fair? Take it up with Polyphany if you think its not fair. Comparing IP vs IP in this generation, regardless of games released, is a great way to see how they are doing currently, not relying on the crutches of times almost a decade old and beyond.
Not directed at you specifically, because even you admit Halo is bigger this gen, but directed at others.
In the end, what many, or most neglect, is that $$$$ brought in by each IP determines the winner. This is a industry after all. Halo brought in waaaaaay more $$$$ this gen, signifying that it truly is the bigger franchise.
