It is Gran Turismo and imo... pretty clearly
Gran Turismo does very impressive numbers. It's a racer... a sim racer at that. The racing genre isn't even that big right now. Probably not top 3... certainly not top 2. Not too many multiplatform racing games can even come close to GT numbers. GT is at the top of the racing genre... sim or arcade.
Halo is big and does impressive numbers as well. But it's a shooter in a time where shooters are the "thing" to play. And it's not even the biggest shooter on Xbox. It gets beat out by another shooter on it's own console.
GT is more important to Playstation then Halo is to Xbox. GT is bigger than Halo
