i don't know really but i feel like 2001 and 2009 competes with 1998 for me.

what was released those years? and didn't people feel like 2011 rivaled 1998?

2001: MGS2-Devil may cry-Ico-Halo-Silant hill 2-Jak and daxter-Twisted Metal Black-Gran Turismo 3-Final Fantasy X-Grand Theft auto 3 to name a few...
