Guys for realz adding a lower difficulty wouldn't even make sense. Like would they split the online then for co-op/invasions? Would you have less items being dropped and less souls being given from the easier difficulty? It seriously cannot be done without huge repercussions!

Yep, if you play on normal mode you only play co-op with other people on normal. Same with invasions.

Easy mode could be slightly higher souls and item drop rate making you level a little bit faster and checkpoints right before boss battles.

The only repercussions from something like that would be a few angry self-entitled gamers who don't think anyone else is allowed to enjoy the game (but they would still buy the game) and more sales overall because the ideal audience would be slightly larger.

But let's be honest, what possible repercussions can come from something that doesn't effect your playing style?

at bare minimum they'd have to change their marketing from "prepare to die" to "prepare for your pleasent journey down a mildly unsafe dungen"..

Not necessarily. The difficulty would still be there so the "prepare to die" marketing scheme would still work just fine.

@mtu: The points you bring up are not the problems. Nothing would get changed for you. The main thing that I really wanted changed is just a mode where you don't have to go over the same area time and time again. You're acting like an easy mode would drastically change everything but in truth, it would not. First off, you act like From Software is a company that couldn't handle doing that. Why do you have such a small amount of faith in an a company that obviously has the ability to make such changes without changing anything you like about the game. Your gameplay would be just the same so why do you care?

I just want you guys to understand that From Software obviously knows what their doing and they wouldn't change your gaming experience. There isn't any logical reason to get fussy over the notion of a well implemented, easier difficulty.
