Personally, no matter how much I'm looking forward to any game, I would never go into it expecting it to be such a monumental success that it changes the industry. When you go in with huge expectations like that, you're more than likely headed for disappointment, no matter how good the game is.

I get hyped for certain games same and anyone, and I'm definitely excited for the Last of Us, but it's always better to go in with realistic expectations. Chances are it'll be a fantastic game, anything more or less can be debated once everybody's got their hands on it. Don't ruin it for yourself by putting the weight of world on it's shoulders.

i made this thread because ND them selfs said they wanted to change it, personally i just expect what i saw at E3 and something with the quality of uncharted, a tad better or a tad worse.

the thing is, ND put this pressure on them selfs. i see that they could change the industry but it would be hard. first of all, its late in the gen, second they want to change story telling. UC2 managed to be so influencial because its presentation, characters and set pieces were out of this world. its much easier to attract customers with those and its much easier to emulate than a deep, emotional story. so even if it does raise the bar of story telling and characters, does the industry have enough talent to raise their standards as well? and how far can ND raise the bar from lets say Red dead redemption?
