You don't need alot of health to run past enemies. For example in the undead burg..just avoid them and you won't get hit...Just don't wear super heavy armor when getting ready to run and you'll be fine.

As I said Souls series isn't made to be a game that gives you the most convenient options and not scared of dying because you can just press retry without any real penalty. They want the player to feel risk and that every move counts..Thus one of the reasons why they aren't adding those options.

even things not so obscure were borderline easy mode...For example certain spells.  As  A Sorc you could take down the gargolye with like 3/4 hits of heavy soul arrow...and soul arrows were 1 hit kill to mobs...By the time u get to the next bonfire they are re-filled I remember lightning spear also being too good against certain bosses. ...as with pyromancy. and don't get me started on lightning weapons and dark magic. I hope they work on balancing more but with being able to shot arrows while moving in DS2..I dunno. but we'll see.

EDIT:

And I just wanted to claify that I 100% agree with you that they need to make it more understandable so the player doesn't have to go online. I think that they wanted to combat having to go online with the message system but thats not a full solution. Thats one of main difficulties of the game. If the new director can make the game "acessible" and more understandable I think some people can get into the game easier and see that its not so bad once you understand it.

Now beyond that its just completely unrealistic for a Souls game or any hardcore RPG that is devloped by fromsoft.and thats not even including them getting into damage control mode whenever easy mode or a easier game idea is brought up or mis-translated.

According to them Things such as getting to the boss is  more important than beating the boss(so no retrying at boss), losing souls being A major part of accomplishment/suspense(so no reducing souls lost), the considerable difficulty being an important tool for accomplishment(no easy mode).

Thats their goal with the game...to provide the presistant player a sense of accomplishment...not the player that sells the game after 4 deaths or doesn't even die but is too scared to lose souls lol.
